For adventure lovers, hikes in mountainous areas is El Refugio de Vida Silvestre Cerro Dantas is located near the city of Heredia, 20 kilometers northeast of the National University, on the edge of Braulio Carrillo National Park.

It has 57 hectares of primary and secondary cloud forest. Its trails enter a mountain of irregular topography where you can see a variety of trees, orchids, birds, streams and waterfalls, hopefully appreciating animals from the area as the name says Dantas and Jaguares, Pumas in their natural habitat.

We recommend including in your backpacks: poncho for rain, change of clothes, comfortable shoes for walking, binoculars or camera, water and plastic bags.

Dining area with equipped kitchen, 6 bedrooms with capacity for 36 people, each room consists of three cabins, 2 bathrooms, 2 showers with hot water, communication via cell phone can be limited, depending on the weather conditions, there is electric fluid and you can also do camping inside the shelter.

Cerro Dantas was declared a Wildlife Refuge on February 16, 1998 in the official newspaper La Gaceta #32, decree #26661 MINAE.
